Aurora Park Design
Stream worked with the City of Aurora Parks and Open Space Department to develop a master plan and construction documents package for the renovation of Montview Park along the banks of Westerly Creek in southwest Aurora. The plan was developed in association with the City of Aurora Water Department, which is undertaking stream channel and flood control improvements to the Creek. Stream has worked to maximize the value of the open spaces, stream channel, and park as unique recreational resources, while maintaining the necessary conveyance function of the creek. The design emphasizes Westerly Creek as a resource with overlooks, new natural areas & wetlands, improved drainage, nature trails, and informal stepping stone crossings of the creek. Recreational enhancements include a new playground, basketball courts, informal soccer fields, and a grassy amphitheater. Construction completed in 2016.
