New Water Quality BMP Guidelines for Public Spaces and Green Streets
Location: Denver, CO
Stream partnered with Denver’s Office of Green Infrastructure to develop water quality best management practice (BMP) guidelines for the implementation of green urban stormwater infrastructure and urban enhancements within the rightof-way, small sites / plazas, and multimodal trails. This guide builds upon the work Stream previously completed regarding BMPs in Denver’s Ultra-Urban Green Infrastructure document and aims to provide a more robust, versatile, and practical set of tools and solutions that are applicable to all types of city streets and conditions. This new guide defines five levels of “green” that range from adding vegetation with proper growing conditions to streetscapes to fully engineered stormwater quality planters that provide regulatory water quality volumes.
