Urban Infrastructure

Green Infrastructure | Civic Areas | Transportation & Streetscape

Urban landscapes should tell the story of a place, evoke emotion, be regionally appropriate, and be easier to maintain at the same time. We work with owners, developers, architects, and planners to create urban landscapes that manage stormwater and accommodate high levels of activity – and we pride ourselves on helping our clients realize designs that are practical, beautiful, and contribute to a unique sense of place. We respond to practical aspects like access, adjacencies, and drainage – and know when it’s appropriate to create contrast or blur the lines between public or private.

We push design to express experiential and personal character, aiming to reflect our client’s mission while celebrating regional character and cultural heritage. Our expertise in plants, construction, materials, the public process, and the municipal standards gives us the ability to create resilient landscapes for urban environments that endure in the harsh western climate, and are sustainable for decades.
