Cordera Wild Rumpus Park

A new park offering numerous amenities for structured and unstructured exploration

The wonder of imagination and the classic children’s book Where the Wild Things Are were the inspiration for Wild Rumpus Park. The park celebrates the natural terrain and beauty of the site and creates a place that encourages imaginative play. Stream worked with the community to develop the 16-arce park, which offers a variety of nature-based park experiences, over a mile of trails, and a pond. Several aspects of the park conjure images from the book, including a boardwalk crossing that resembles the leaves illustrated in the book and stamped concrete “monster footprints” that appear throughout the park. The western entrance of the park also includes a crown and scepter sculpture created by a local artist that honors the crown and scepter Max wore on his imaginary island.
