Neighborhood Park Redesign
Location: Aurora, Colorado
Stream worked with the City of Aurora Parks and Open Space Department to develop a master plan and construction documentation for the renovation of 8.9-acre Montview Park. These improvements were part of a larger stream channel and flood control improvement project along Westerly Creek. Stream worked to maximize the value of open space, stream channel, and park as unique recreational resources. The design celebrates Westerly Creek through overlooks, new natural areas and wetlands, improved drainage, nature trails, and stepping stone crossings. Recreational enhancements at the park include a new playground, basketball courts, informal soccer fields, and an instructional amphitheater. This project was designed in association with the City of Aurora Water Department.
