Xeric Conversion

Westminster, Colorado

Stream developed an overall vision and master plan for the conversion of the irrigated turf landscape surrounding Westminster’s City Hall campus into a regionally appropriate, water conserving demonstration landscape. Working with a multi-departmental project team from the City of Westminster, our team facilitated visioning exercises and developed schematic design alternatives that were used to establish consensus among the many interests at the table to fulfill the functional, aesthetic, water conservation, and educational goals of the City. The adopted landscape master plan proposes a variety of garden and landscape types, as well and specific plant palettes that will demonstrate to the greater community the City’s commitment to truly sustainable development and the possibilities for beautiful and maintainable xeric landscapes.
